With over 100+ million parties taking place across the US, the big game is definitely a big event for spending. According to a survey by the National Retail Federation and Prosper Insights & Analytics, 72% of American adults planned to watch the game in 2019. Almost 80% were planning to buy food and beverages, 10% seeking team apparel and accessories, 7% in search of new televisions and 4% investing in new furniture. With the average American adult spending $81.30 on watching the game, many retailers are at the ready for those consumers in need of food, team jerseys, decorations or even a new TV for the big game.
Top tip: Engage your customers throughout the game with push notifications and stories. After all, only 43% of viewers find the game to be the most important part of the event.
