Mobile commerce, smartphones, iPad apps – it can all get a bit confusing. If you’re a fashion label, it’s easy to wonder: do you need to get your brand onto mobile? Or is it just another bandwagon?
At Poq we’re convinced of the importance of mobile to every fashion and design brand, small or large. Just look at the stats:
- Nearly half (44%) of all shoppers visit fashion retail websites on their phones
- Retail sales via mobile have grown 2,900% since 2010
- 43% of 25-34 year olds have bought or plan to buy fashion on their mobile
- Clothes are the most popular category for impulse purchases via mobile, with 41% of shoppers treating themselves
- Nearly half of all mobile shoppers have ‘ditched a brand’ following a poor mobile experience

Together with Fashion Angel, we’re holding an event on the 14th November for small to medium sized fashion brands, which will tell you everything you need to know about mobile but were too busy to find out.
We’ll be covering the difference between apps and mobile websites, how to tell when it’s time to start selling on mobile, and how small fashion brands can access the right technology.

There’ll be a Q&A session so you can ask us all those tricky questions, and our special guest is Sonja Todd, the Online Marketing Manager for Tatty Devine. She commissioned one of our most successful projects to date – the Tatty Devine iPhone and iPad app which has now been downloaded more than 13,000 times. Sonja will be able to tell you all about the process of getting an app from the brand’s perspective.
